Job summary

Pontotoc Middle School seeks an instructional aide to assist certified staff and support students in achieving instructional goals. You will help with reading, language arts, math, and computer skills, both in small groups and one-on-one, and support assessment activities.

Responsibilities include classroom prep, record-keeping, behavior management, and supervision during lunch, bus duty, and field trips to promote a safe and effective learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or NCLB-related exam may apply.
• Experience with special needs students desirable; ability to follow instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer skills.
• Work with students individually or in small groups; support teachers with assessments.
• Aid in classroom prep and adapt instructional materials to student needs.
• Help with record-keeping of student learning and behavior.
• Support classroom behavior management and student safety.
• Supervise students in non-instructional areas and during field trips.
