Community Trails Middle School in Lavon, TX seeks a Special Education Aide to support students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom. You will implement classroom programs, assist in instructional activities, and help with behavior management under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus Texas aide certification or higher, with experience in working with children.

• Associate’s degree or two years of college
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate
• Some experience working with children

Responsabilidades

• Instructional Support: Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays; keep classroom neat and orderly; assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment; help teacher keep records and reports; provide orientation to substitutes.
• Student Management: Assist students with physical disabilities including transferring to/from wheelchairs; lifting; positioning; assist with feeding, bathroom needs, personal hygiene; monitor behavior and intervene as needed; adapt methods for individual needs; supervise students during lunch, bus, and play.
• Other: Maintain confidentiality; participate in staff development, meetings, and events; follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
