Spring Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Aide for Meyer Elementary School in Houston, TX. The role supports teachers in supervising and instructing students with special needs.

The position is on-site with pay grade 2, mostly during the school year with 187 days. Starting date is immediate and applicants must meet district requirements including HS diploma and additional coursework or testing as specified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma from an accredited institution
• 48 hours of college coursework from an accredited college or university (or equivalent)
• Pass Spring ISD's NCLB test in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics
• Educational Aide II Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays
• Assist teacher in adapting classroom instruction to support and reinforce student objectives
• Assist teacher in preparing/maintaining records/reports required by laws/regulations
• Assist teacher in maintaining order and discipline in classroom
• Assist in individual and small group instruction
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned
• Perform all other duties as assigned
