Job summary

Heritage Elementary School in Houston, part of Spring ISD, seeks a Special Education Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. The position supports teachers in supervising and instructing students with special needs.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires 187 days per year, with starting date immediately. Applicants should have a high school diploma, and either 48 college hours or Pass NCLB tests; an Educational Aide II Certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma from an accredited institution.
• 48 hours of college coursework from an accredited college or university or: Pass Spring ISD's NCLB test in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist teacher in adapting classroom instruction to support and/or reinforce student objectives.
• Assist teacher in preparing/maintaining records/reports required by Federal, State or local laws/regulations.
• Assist teacher in maintaining order and discipline in classroom.
• Assist in individual and small group instruction.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
