Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. You will help implement instructional plans, monitor behavior, and assist in IEP-related activities, under teacher supervision.

The role involves adapting activities, administering materials, and collaborating with teachers and families to support student success in school.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or approved paraeducator assessment.
• Ability to adapt activities under teacher direction for diverse students.
• Familiarity with IEP objectives and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision, care and instruction of students in class or self-contained settings.
• Assist in implementing instructional plans and data collection on progress.
• Provide aid during non-classroom times and during transitions.
• Attend meetings and communicate student progress with teachers/parents.
