Job summary

Independent School District 196 seeks a Special Education Achieve Teacher to support students in the Achieve program, addressing emotional and behavioral needs within a supportive environment.

You will collaborate with staff and families to implement IEPs and BSPs, promote social-emotional learning, and advocate for equitable outcomes while maintaining high expectations for all learners.

Qualifications

• Licensed by Minnesota Department of Education in ABS, ASD, EBD, DD, or LD (Dual licensure preferred).
• Strong general education background.
• Experience with diverse cultures, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Growth mindset and ability to accelerate growth using strengths-based model.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to write and implement IEPs and Behavior Support Plans.
• Knowledge of special education laws, rules and regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196.
• Support Achieve program for students with emotional, behavioral and self-regulation needs.
• Promote equitable outcomes and culturally responsive practices.
• Provide instruction to develop social-emotional skills.
• Use assistive technology to support learning tools access.
• Collaborate with staff and families to plan and support students in least restrictive environment.
• Advocate for students to ensure high achievement levels.
