Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE licensure in Special Education in the area of Moderate Needs.
• DESE Special Education License must cover the elementary grade levels.
• Experience in a Theraputic Learning environment preferred.
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Experience working with students within inclusion, small group and individual settings.
• SEI Endorsement
• Bilingual (Spanish and/or PortuguesePreferred)
• Superintendent may accept alternatives to qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect instructional support to students as per their IEPs.
• Delivers differentiated learning experiences to meet diverse learner needs and progress toward outcomes.
• Participates in Team meetings.
• Develops and implements IEPs with measurable goals and objectives.
• Ensures compliance with IEPs and maintains complete records and reports.
• Offers instruction with measurable outcomes and supports higher-order thinking.
• Collaborates with general education teachers to modify curricula for students with disabilities.
• Assesses and analyzes results to adjust practice and plan interventions.
• Collaborates with parents, outside agencies and staff.
• Shares progress with colleagues and seeks feedback for improvement.
• Provides descriptive feedback to students and families to guide improvement.
• Sets high expectations for work quality and perseverance.
• Develops interpersonal and communication skills in students and supports group learning.
• Addresses conflicts arising from cultural and linguistic differences.
• Pursues professional development and best practices to enhance instruction.
• Collaborates on standards-based units and data-driven planning.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional integrity.
• Fulfills duties; punctual and reliable with paperwork and responsibilities.
