Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a 36‑week contract in or near Austin, Texas. The role offers competitive pay up to $53 per hour and requires delivering specialized instruction in the resource classroom, aligning with IEPs, and supporting students with dyslexia using Reading by Design strategies.

The ideal candidate holds a Special Education certification, a degree in education or equivalent, and at least one year of school experience.

Qualifications

• Standard educational degree or equivalent.
• Certification in Special Education; Reading by Design certification is a plus
• Minimum 1 year experience in a school setting
• Familiarity with resource classroom instruction and special education strategies
• Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student needs
• Background check and compliance with facility standards
• Must be able to work days, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction in the resource classroom
• Incorporate Reading by Design strategies to teach dyslexia
• Collaborate with staff to develop individualized education plans
