Job summary

HUNTINGTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, part of Calvert County Public Schools, seeks an Instructional Assistant 2 to support students with disabilities and general education peers. This role emphasizes instructional, behavioral and social-emotional supports within a 10-month, 190-day, 7-hour-per-day schedule.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, experience with disabilities, and CPI/restorative training. You will collaborate with teachers to implement IEPs and ensure a safe, inclusive classroom

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.
• CPI, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention training required.
• Ukeru crisis intervention and restorative practices training may be required.
• Familiarity with IEPs and BIP implementation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and social-emotional supports to students with disabilities.
• Assist with individual students needing special attention in academics, social and daily living activities.
• Support the implementation of IEPs and BIPs under teacher direction and collect required data.
• Deliver academic interventions and proactive behavioral supports/interventions.
• Assist in crisis situations in the school environment using non-violent CPI when needed.
• Perform clerical duties and support classroom routines as assigned.
