Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled is seeking a Substitute Teacher. You’ll design and implement individualized education programs for students with disabilities, assess learning styles, and select appropriate activities and sites.

You will conduct IEP and special education meetings, coordinate behavioral and communication supports, and maintain a safe, confidential classroom environment.

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Missouri Teaching Certificate.
• The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized education programs for students with disabilities.
• Analyze student learning styles and adapt teaching strategies.
• Coordinate IEP and special education meetings.
• Coordinate behavioral support/intervention plans and communication systems.
• Maintain a safe, confidential classroom environment.
• Follow MSSD policies and procedures.
