Job summary

Sandwich Middle High School in Sandwich, MA seeks an Educational Support Professional to assist students receiving special education services 1:1, in classrooms, in small groups and/or in a subseparate classroom. This is a full time, grant funded role working 6.5 hours per day.

The ESP will collaborate with teachers and ESPs, supporting learning, behavior, and social development under supervision, and participate in district professional development as required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with special education students is preferred.
• Organization, patience, and a sense of humor required.
• Associate degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with the teachers, supervisors, and additional ESPs.
• Support students individually or in small groups during classroom instruction.
• Provide support in student learning of new material under the supervision of a teacher, if necessary.
• Provide academic, social, and behavioral assistance in classrooms settings.
• Assist with duties as required by the building principal and teacher.
• Participate in district-assigned professional development.
