Qualifications

• Knowledge of needs of special needs students and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs academic, therapeutic, and recreational tasks under supervision of a certified special education teacher(s).
• Works with small groups to reinforce and re-teach material initially introduced by the teacher(s).
• Works with individual students who need special attention.
• Assists with routine classroom clerical and housekeeping duties.
• Assists with preparation of instructional aids, bulletin boards, and learning displays.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional standards; reports issues per policy.
