Job summary

Lodi Unified School District in California seeks a Paraeducator-Special Education to assist certificated staff in supporting individual or small groups of students with disabilities. You will reinforce instruction, monitor progress, and support daily classroom activities.

The role requires patience, reliability, and the ability to follow teacher guidance in SDC, RSP and related classrooms, with duties extending to basic clerical tasks and behavior monitoring as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and experience with school-age children.
Proficiency Exam (Basic Skills) certificate required.
Out-of-district TB test and fingerprinting may be needed.

Responsibilities

Tutor individuals or small groups of students with disabilities as directed by the teacher.
Prepare instructional materials and maintain records of achievement.
Observe and report student progress and behavior.
Oversee student activities, games and movement education.
Perform clerical duties such as preparing materials, ordering supplies and recording grades.
Set up work areas and operate instructional equipment and software.
Confer with teachers on programs to meet student needs.
Assist with health and safety practices and maintain a clean classroom.
Prepare students for mainstreamed classes and participate in trainings.
Provide instruction and assistance in social, self-help and community skills.
