Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent attendance record required.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification and keep current.
• Must be able to bend and lift 30 lbs and stand long periods.
• Must pass a background clearance.
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or groups to reinforce learning as directed by the teacher.
• Guides independent study, enrichment and remedial work as assigned.
• Checks class work, grades papers and supervises testing as directed by the teacher.
• Serves as the chief source of information for substitutes in the teacher’s absence.
• Alerts the teacher to any problems.
• Maintains high ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
• Participates in in-service training programs as required.
• Assists students with lunch, snack, recess and cleanup routines.
• Meets students at the bus each morning and escorts them to the bus in the afternoon.
• Assists with wash-up and toilet routines, including diaper changes.
• Operates and cares for equipment and assistive technology used in the classroom.
• Assists with student supervision in all school settings.
• Refs all parent questions directly to the classroom teacher.
• Performs other duties to advance district priorities.
