Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a HQ Paraprofessional to support students and instructors. The role requires an Associate's degree (60 college credits) or ParaPro Exam, the ability to supervise groups of students, and to follow district procedures under the Principal's guidance.

The position is 181 days/9 months, 29 hours per week (8:00 am–2:30 pm), with hourly, non-exempt classification. Reading/writing/speaking English is required; First Aid/CPR is preferred and a fingerprint

Qualifications

• Must have HQ Paraprofessional status with Associate's degree (60 college credit hours) or pass ParaPro Exam.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner.
• Ability to follow directions and school procedures fromthe Principal and designated staff.
• Ability to operate general office machines.
• Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Effective communicator and work cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Prefer First Aid and/or CPR certification.
• Prefer experience working with elementary level students.
• Must pass a background clearance
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning.
• Assists independent study, enrichment and remedial work for the classroom.
• Maintains confidentiality and exhibits ethical behavior.
• Participates in in-service training as required.
• Assists with supervision during drills and assemblies.
• Assists the teacher with evaluation of student progress.
