Job summary

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point; Google Apps.
• Working knowledge of successful instructional delivery methods.
• Working knowledge of general classroom activities and routines.
• Ability to protect the confidentiality of personally identifiable information in accordance with FERPA and related laws.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to motivate students.
• Ability to monitor and supervise student safety and well-being.
• Ability to adapt to diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
• Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form and maintain effective relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and assistance to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assists teachers with strategies related to behavioral intervention plans.
• Aids with planning, organizing, and preparing materials for lesson plans.
• Maintains confidentiality and documents records as required.
• Promotes student independence and self-determination in the classroom.
• Assists with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices as needed.
• Coordinates and facilitates student transitions between classes and supports health care needs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
