Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is seeking a Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional to support life skills learning and on-the-job training in the Common Grounds Cafe located at the Durango Public Library. This position is 7.5 hours per day and includes full benefits. This is an 11 month position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with related coursework preferred.
• Basic Skills Competence (Minimum 2 years of college, e.g. associates degree, or 48 semester hours) OR Pass paraprofessional test prior to hiring.
• Experience in special education settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional programs and provide on-the-job training to students.
• Train and mentor students in barista and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborate with licensed staff to implement IEPs and supervise students in cafe operations.
• Maintain data collection and records related to student progress.
