Job summary

East Valley Middle School in Spokane Valley, WA is hiring a Special Education (Behavior Intervention) Paraeducator. See hours: 6.75 per day, 191 days per year, schedule Monday–Friday 7:15 am–2:30 pm. Immediate start after background clearance; FBI and WA State Patrol required. External candidates only.

Salary $20.51–$23.89 per hour, with an extra $1.50/hour for de‑escalation support. Contact: Katie Himmerich. Position is part‑time, reports to Principal and Program Director.

Qualifications

• Praxis or AA Degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or completed apprenticeship before applying.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid/CPR certification is required.
• Immunization proof if born after 1957 is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with classroom program and materials.
• Provide instruction to students with special needs as assigned.
• Maintain student records and assist with record keeping.
• Support safety and well‑being of students and staff.
• Utilize district software (Skyward, Word, Excel, SMI) daily.
