Job summary

East Valley School District 361 is seeking a part-time Paraeducator for the East Valley Parent Partnership/East Valley Online program in Spokane Valley, WA. The role supports the special education teacher, assists with classroom activities, and uses Skyward, Word, Excel, and SMI for records.

Minimum 18 years old with a diploma and appropriate credentialing is required. Hours are 9:00 am to 12:45 pm, Monday through Friday (3.75 hours daily, 183 days/year).

Qualifications

• Prerequisites include Praxis, AA Degree, or 72 quarter/48 semester credits, or a registered apprenticeship.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Assist the special education teacher with classroom program and materials.
• Provide instruction to students with special needs as assigned.
• Assist with record keeping tasks as directed.
• Maintain safety and well-being of students.
• Work daily with students per schedule.
• Utilize district software programs such as Skyward, Word, Excel, and SMI.
• Maintain student records as directed.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment and facilities.
• Current First Aid/CPR Card required.
• Immunization proof if born on/after 1/1/1957.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher in implementation, organization and preparation of classroom programs.
• Provide instruction to students with special needs as assigned.
• Assist with record keeping tasks.
• Assist in maintaining safety and well-being of students.
• Work daily with students according to schedule.
• Facilitate and complete learning experiences designated by the teacher.
• Assist building staff with classroom interventions.
• Ensure safety of all students.
• Utilize district software (Skyward, Word, Excel, SMI) for records.
