Job summary

Hamilton County Schools' Nolan Elementary School seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in PreK-5 classrooms, one-on-one, or small groups, under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher.

Responsibilities include supporting IEP goals, data collection, classroom tasks, and safety procedures; training in non-violent crisis intervention may be provided; physical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of teaching strategies and supports for students with disabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families.
• Willingness to be trained in nonviolent crisis intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational assistance to students with disabilities; support development and monitoring of IEP goals.
• Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and instructional materials preparation.
• Support teachers in classrooms and during field trips or special activities as needed.
• Provide physical assistance and management support to ensure student safety during school activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies and procedures.
• Assist with clerical tasks and use of instructional technology as required.
