Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Oversight and Supervision: Assists the Manager of the Diplomatic Reception Rooms in overseeing caterers and waitstaff to ensure compliance with food preparation guidelines and procedures. Directs disputes regarding contractors to the Manager for resolution.
  2. Inspection and Maintenance: Conducts daily inspections of the Reception Rooms and coordinates cleaning and maintenance as needed. Provides weekly reports on the condition of the Reception Rooms.
  3. Inventory Management: Conducts detailed annual inventories of china, silver, crystal, linen, and representational equipment. Reports damages or missing items to the Diplomatic Reception Rooms Manager and COR. Ensures linen is properly cleaned and stored after each event.
  4. Event Planning and Coordination: Attends planning meetings with clients to understand event requirements, conducts walkthroughs of event sites to address logistical needs, and assists the Office of Protocol during Official State Visits.
  5. Vendor Coordination: Prepares memoranda for loading dock access and escorts vendors, purveyors, and contractors to and from the 8th floor. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must possess a Top-Secret Clearance and Food Handlers Certification.
  • Requires intermittent overtime.

Additional Notes: The employee is expected to be articulate, well-groomed, personable, and able to work under extreme pressure. A uniform is not required; however, business professional attire is mandatory.
