Sesame is building smart wearables and is seeking a Speaker Systems Engineer to own the speaker system end-to-end.

You will select transducers, design the acoustic path, specify limits, test at volume, and collaborate with DSP and firmware to ensure reliable performance in compact form factors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or similar.
• 5+ years of experience integrating speakers into consumer electronics hardware, with at least one shipped product where you owned the speaker system.
• Strong grounding in electroacoustics: lumped-parameter modeling, Thiele/Small parameters, enclosure and port design.
• Hands-on experience specifying and qualifying miniature speakers with transducer suppliers.
• Extensive experience with audio test systems (SoundCheck, Klippel, Audio Precision) and measuring distortion, maximum SPL, and rub-and-buzz.
• Experience with acoustic simulation (lumped-parameter and FEM, e.g., COMSOL) to inform design decisions.
• Working knowledge of speaker tuning and protection and collaboration with a DSP team.

Responsabilités

• Own the speaker path of a consumer product from transducer selection to factory test.
• Translate product requirements into speaker-system specs: bandwidth, level, distortion, leakage, and power budget.
• Design and simulate the acoustic path in collaboration with mechanical and industrial design.
• Build and measure prototypes; analyze frequency response, distortion, and maximum output.
• Set up measurement methods in lab and factory with golden units and end-of-line tests.
• Work with EE, ME, FW, and PD to balance acoustic performance against size and cost.
