Job summary

OSI Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Audio Systems Engineer to own the wearable audio system from microphones through wake-word and on-device processing. You will lead DSP development, beamforming, and spatial audio output for a consumer wearable.

You will validate microphone arrays, optimize latency budgets, and collaborate with EE and firmware teams to ensure robust, field-ready performance for the year-end ship commitment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of audio engineering experience; shipped consumer product
• Experience owning a multi-microphone voice system end-to-end
• Proven track record shipping wake-word or always-on voice activation at consumer scale
• Experience designing real-time DSP pipelines on constrained MCUs
• Strong acoustic engineering instincts: microphone selection, port design, housing acoustics
• Direct experience driving audio component selection and benchmarking with second-source planning

Responsibilities

• Own the audio system end-to-end—from microphone arrays to wake-word and open-ear speaker output.
• Drive part selection and benchmarking across the audio chain—microphones, DSPs, AFEs, Class-D amplifiers, speakers.
• Specify electrical and acoustic interfaces and partner with EE and FW leads.
• Drive on-device DSP development with real-time constraints (latency, CPU budgets).
• Validate spatial mic array for DOA accuracy, speech enhancement in noise, and wind robustness.
• Define wake-word strategy and own on-device engine performance and UX.
