Job summary

10x Genomics is seeking a scientist to drive development of spatial biology assays. You design and troubleshoot experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with Computational Biology, Software, Microfluidics, and Operations teams to bring new protocols to life.

The role requires a PhD in molecular biology or related fields and 3+ years in spatial techniques, with strong problem-solving and communication skills in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in situ hybridization, imaging and spatial techniques.
• Ability to design novel molecular biology assay schemes (peer‑reviewed publications or patents).
• Strong analytical skills: fluency in R, Python or AI‑aided coding for ad‑hoc analysis.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to support development, optimization, and verification of novel assays for our spatial platform.
• Perform in-depth analysis and provide documentation and presentation to drive decision.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Computational Biology, Software, Microfluidics, Operation and Assay Productization.
• Contribute to protocol development and support protocol transfer to customer facing documentation.
