Job summary

S&ME is seeking a 2027 Spark Summer Intern for Civil/Environmental/Construction/Geotechnical Engineering in Charlotte, NC. This 12-week program runs May 2027 through August 2027 and offers hands-on experience under experienced professional-owners across service lines.

You will join a cohort to learn about all aspects of S&ME, gain professional development, and grow within a collaborative, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a related degree program; Rising Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students preferred.
• Related experience and/or campus, community, work-related leadership experience preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Out of town travel may be required.
• For technical roles the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is required.
• Routine lifting may be required: 40 to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced professionals within your area of interest.
• Be part of an intern cohort and learn about all aspects of S&ME.
• Gain hands-on experience and access to technical experts across the company.
• Support project teams on civil/environmental/construction/geotechnical engineering tasks.
