2025-2026 School Year | SPANISH TEACHER - Middle and High School ( MYP / DP )

Madison Country Day School, a PreK-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is seeking a Secondary Spanish language educator to begin in August 2025. The successful applicant will have experience teaching secondary students with emergent, capable, and proficient language levels.

POSITION

Applicants should possess not just a love of the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures, but also the desire to advance both an evolving school and their own professional expertise. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who is highly skilled at differentiation and inspires others through optimism, flexibility, and teamwork. The candidate should also possess a willingness to collaborate with dedicated educators within the MCDS faculty.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL

• Work within a collaborative World Languages department;
• Have knowledge of relevant curriculum tasks, assessments, and activities for language acquisition;
• Have experience with or a willingness to learn the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) or Diploma Programme (DP) approach to language acquisition;
• Contribute to the school’s extracurricular offerings and serve as an advisor;
• Have the ability to design and facilitate rigorous, empowering lesson plans that are student-centered and thought-provoking;
• Have intellectual curiosity and a desire to spark a love of language learning in students;
• Have excellent communication skills, a genuine appreciation of adolescents, a sense of humor, and the ability to work well within a collaborative environment;
• Believe in the intrinsic relationship between social-emotional learning and culturally responsive pedagogy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Have full eligibility to teach in the US;
• Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
• At least 2 years of teaching experience;
• Excellent oral, organizational, and written communication skills;
• Experience with the International Baccalaureate is welcome, but not required.
