Job summary

Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Western Massachusetts seeks a Spanish teacher to cover maternity leave from mid‑November 2026 through June 1, 2027. The teacher will work with students in grades 6–12, delivering two Spanish 2 classes in the Middle School and two Spanish 3/Spanish 3 Honors classes in the Upper School.

Class sizes range from 9 to 14 students. The academy seeks a dedicated educator who inspires a love of language and helps students become effective communicators in Spanish.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field.
• A master’s degree in Spanish or education (preferred).
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish (preferred).
• Two to three years of successful teaching experience.
• A demonstrated understanding of differentiated teaching and learning approaches.
• Familiarity with ACTFL proficiency standards.
• A record of effective collaboration with colleagues.
• Strong classroom organization and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach two Spanish 2 classes in the Middle School.
• Teach two Spanish 3/Spanish 3 Honors classes in the Upper School.
• Support student language learning and help students become effective communicators in Spanish.
• Two employment options exist: part-time or full-time.
