Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Fluency in English and target language (Spanish).
• Completion of medical interpreter certificate program (min 40 hours).
• Ability to provide accurate oral and written interpretation.
• Proficient medical terminology in English and target language.

Responsibilities

• Provide oral and limited written interpretation to patients and families.
• Translate and explain medical information, procedures, medications, and diets.
• Assist patients with forms, appointments, and billing information.
• Interpret for clinicians and staff, translating questions and instructions.
• Support training of staff in foreign language communication.
