Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a bilingual interpreter to assist non-English speaking patients at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. You will interpret consent forms, diagnoses, discharge plans and other patient information, ensuring accuracy and patient care quality.

Role requires a Bachelor's in human relations, at least two years of hospital-related experience, fluency in English and Spanish, and training in medical terminology. Onsite, 36-hour shifts with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a human relations field (i.e. Sociology, Psychology) highly preferable.
• At least 2 years of college level education and 2 years of hospital and/or health care related experience in a position of direct patient contact.
• Fluency of English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Prior training of medical terminology and interpreting skills.
• Knowledge of culture-specific care.

Responsibilities

• Interpret consent forms, diagnoses, discharge plans and other patient-related information; provide interpretation support.
• Serve as a resource to both patients and providers to contribute to successful outcomes.
• Comply with appropriate BWH policies and procedures.
