Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a qualified Spanish Interpreter to provide medical interpretation for clinical and non-clinical encounters, helping patients who are limited English proficient and/or hearing impaired and clinicians and other hospital staff.

This on-site position supports patient safety and access to quality care, with interpretation available in person or by telephone following hospital policies and interpreter services guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Two years of healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of culture-specific care.

Job Summary Summary Under the direction of the Patient Experience Operations Manager, the Spanish Interpreter provides medical interpretation for clinical and non-clinical encounters to enable communication between patients and families who are limited English proficient and/or hearing impaired and clinicians and other hospital staff. Interpretation will be provided in person or by telephone in compliance with National Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, Brigham and Women's Hospital policies and procedures, and Interpreter Services guidelines to ensure patient safety and access to quality care.
