Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a qualified Spanish Interpreter to provide medical interpretation for clinical and non-clinical encounters, helping patients who are limited English proficient and/or hearing impaired and clinicians and other hospital staff.

This on-site position supports patient safety and access to quality care, with interpretation available in person or by telephone following hospital policies and interpreter services guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Two years of healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of culture-specific care.

Responsibilities

• Answer requests for face-to-face or telephone interpretations for all types of encounters throughout the hospital, prioritizing emergency and urgent requests.
• Interpret and transmit complex medical information accurately and understandably.
