Job summary

Dakota County Parks is seeking temporary Bilingual Spanish Outreach Assistants to engage with communities and increase park visitation. Responsibilities include organizing events, translating materials, and providing interpretation in both English and Spanish.

The four-month position requires availability for weekday evenings and weekends, with part-time hours. Work will occur at Western Service Center and various Dakota County Parks locations, with typical duties involving outreach at events

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong communication, translation, and interpretation skills.
• Two years of work or volunteer outreach, program or event support in diverse communities.
• One year of undergraduate coursework in Cultural Studies or related field and one year of community outreach experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain positive relationships with the public, including underrepresented communities.
• Lead programs, events, and activities in English and Spanish.
• Support planning, logistics, promotion, and implementation of park programs.
• Frequent local travel to events, transporting materials and equipment.
• Increase awareness of Dakota County Parks through outreach at events and materials distribution.
• Provide administrative support to park marketing and promotional efforts.
• Represent Dakota County Parks positively in the community.
