Job summary

County of Sonoma in Sonoma County is seeking a Bilingual Community Engagement Coordinator to plan, develop, and implement programs that promote parks, resources, and language accessibility in English and other prevalent community languages. You will build partnerships, coordinate events, collect data, and support staff, with a focus on inclusive participation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of environmental education and interpretation and program development.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse community groups and partners.
• Experience facilitating groups in parks/outdoor settings.
• Understanding of barriers to participation for underserved populations; experience bridging those barriers.
• Experience with Canva or PowerPoint for marketing materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and diverse audiences.
• Lead or assist with coordinating events and outreach activities and promote programs.
• Participate in program evaluations, data collection, and reporting.
• Support Park Program Supervisors with scheduling and delivery of programs.
• Assist training for staff and interns; maintain safe working conditions; provide First Aid/CPR in emergencies.
• Collaborate with other Regional Parks teams and County departments.
