Job summary

Piedmont Global invites applications for a Spanish Language & Cultural Instructor at NFATC in Arlington, VA. The role involves planning and delivering small-group Spanish classes onsite, using established materials, and collaborating with the LTS and fellow instructors.

You will assess progress, adapt methods for adult learners, maintain the FSI LMS, and, with COR approval, participate in Washington, DC area activities. Three years’ teaching experience required.

Qualifications

• Spanish proficiency (ILR Level 4+ preferred).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in any field.
• At least 3 years teaching Spanish to adults.
• At least 3 years using proficiency-based or task-based curricula.
• At least 1 year administering proficiency-based assessments (DLPT/OPI).
• Experience with hybrid teaching and online classes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group Spanish language classes onsite at NFATC in Arlington, VA.
• Use established materials and collaborate with the LTS and instructors on training/testing matters.
• Assess students’ progress and adapt teaching techniques to the students’ needs.
• Conduct formal and informal progress assessments to evaluate progress.
• Provide a respectful, student-centered environment with constructive feedback.
• Maintain an online classroom via the FSI Learning Management System.
• With COR approval, plan/participate in non-classroom activities in the Washington, DC area.
