Job summary

North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics seeks an Instructor of Spanish and French for the Morganton campus. This is a full-time, 10-month EHRA faculty position with a 1.0 FTE.

The role includes teaching in residential and online programs, curriculum development, and active participation in departmental activities. Responsibilities include delivering in-person courses, mapping proficiency-based curricula, and contributing to the department's mission of high-quality humanities education

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Spanish, French, TESOL/ESL, or related field.
• Language proficiency in Spanish and French at native or advanced levels.
• Expertise in high school/undergraduate language pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3 in-person courses per semester in Spanish and French; conduct two 2-week January Term courses.
• Develop multi-level, proficiency-based curricula for diverse student proficiencies.
• Teach innovative language curricula for NCSSM's residential and online programs.
