City of Cleveland is seeking a Court Interpreter II (Spanish) to provide interpretation in court proceedings and related services. The role requires handling simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation while upholding professional conduct and accuracy.

Qualifications

Credentialed by the Supreme Court of Ohio or eligible for reciprocity.
High School Diploma required; related degree preferred.
Minimum two years of court-related or legal experience preferred.
Basic working knowledge of legal and medical terminology in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Interprets in simultaneous, consecutive and sight translation modes in court functions and ancillary services.
Adheres to the Supreme Court of Ohio Code of Professional Conduct for Court Interpreters and Translators.
Attends ongoing training to improve or maintain skills and comply with interpreter CIE requirements.
Maintains records of interpreting and translating activities.
Collects, interprets, and analyzes data for the computation and submission of statistical records and reports.
Translates and cooperates as a team in the translation and editing process of court related material.
Provides quality service that continuously improves, and meets or exceeds public expectations, and that ensures all are treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
