Job summary

Bastion in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Spacesuit Technologist to support hands-on assembly, inspection, and testing of NASA prototype spacesuits. You will work with seasoned suit technicians to prepare hardware, operate specialized test equipment, and assist with human-in-the-loop evaluations across NASA facilities.

Ideal candidates bring strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication experience, with a commitment to safe, precise workmanship in a dynamic lab and test environment.

Qualifications

• This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Requires space industry or DoD/DoW experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Hands-on mechanical and fabrication experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in workshops, labs, and test environments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and test prototype spacesuits under supervision.
• Prepare procedures and work instructions for maintenance, repairs, testing, and fabrication.
• Operate test equipment (TSE) and ground support equipment (GSE) for suit testing.
• Build and modify mockups and prototype hardware for testing and evaluation.
• Maintain training and certifications; follow safety policies and procedures.
• Occasional non-business hours work as required.
