Job summary

Amentum Space Exploration Division seeks a Mechanical Engineer to develop Creo CAD models and fabrication drawings for NASA’s Space Reactor-1 Freedom program, supporting Mars exploration. You will work in a fast-paced, integrated product team with NASA civil servants and contractors.

The role requires an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree and 8–10 years of experience, strong GD&T knowledge, statics/dynamics, and US citizenship with STAR ID.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Creo/Pro-Engineer 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5M-1994) and applying GD&T.
• General knowledge of Statics and Dynamics.
• Must be a US Citizen and have a STAR ID.

Responsibilities

• Develop Creo CAD models and fabrication drawings for NASA’s Space Reactor-1 Freedom for Mars exploration.
• Work with integrated product teams including contractors and NASA civil servants to meet aggressive schedules.
• Release engineering and fabrication drawings; provide fabrication support to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with vendors and NASA; deliver reports/presentations to MSFC and Amentum management.
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet delivery dates.
