Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a skilled software engineer to develop automated analysis tools, integrate with design and manufacturing software, and drive automation across engineering workflows. You will build and maintain scalable pipelines, APIs, and containerized environments to enable efficient physics and engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in computer science, information science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with production systems.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly compute-oriented services (EC2, Image Builder, ParallelCluster or equivalent).
• Proficiency in at least one of: Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with Linux system administration, containerization (Docker), and build pipelines.
• Familiarity with HPC concepts: job schedulers (Slurm), MPI, cluster management.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong code review experience, including modernization of legacy tools.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain analysis software tools and methods.
• Leverage HPC infrastructure and workflows on AWS to support engineering analysis automation.
• Integrate inputs and automate output formats for 3rd-party analysis tools to improve productivity.
• Build and maintain containerized development and execution environments for Linux and macOS.
• Develop APIs, services, and job orchestration layers to enable scalable compute for engineering teams.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of Blue Analysis Templates and toolchains.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for analysis software delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions.
