Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled software engineer to join the ACE team, developing high-performance computing pipelines, integrations, and automations to support physics and engineering analysis. This role emphasizes scalable, containerized workflows and self-service compute across Linux and macOS environments.

You will design and optimize HPC infrastructure on AWS (EC2, ParallelCluster), build integration pipelines for 3rd-party analysis tools, and contribute to toolchains and templates used

Qualifications

• BA/BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with production systems.
• Experience with AWS compute services (EC2, Image Builder, ParallelCluster).
• Proficiency in at least one of: Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with Linux system administration, containerization (Docker), and build pipelines.
• Familiarity with HPC concepts: job schedulers (Slurm), MPI.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of version control (Git) and DevOps practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain HPC infrastructure and workflows on AWS (EC2, ParallelCluster) to support engineering analysis workloads.
• Develop integrations and automation pipelines for 3rd-party analysis tools (e.g., Ansys, Altair) to improve engineer productivity and throughput.
• Build and maintain containerized development and execution environments for analysis software across Linux and macOS platforms.
• Develop APIs, services, and job orchestration layers (e.g., Slurm, OpenMPI) to enable scalable, self-service compute for engineering teams.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of Blue Analysis Templates and supporting toolchains.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for analysis software delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions that reduce manual effort.
