Job summary

Barrios Technology Ltd. in Houston, TX, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design structural and mechanical components for spaceflight systems, deliver models and drawings, and perform analyses to meet design standards.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 5 years of experience, CAD skills (Creo, NX, SolidWorks) and GD&T; preference for MS, spaceflight experience, and leadership capabilities. U.S. citizenship and ability to travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must have BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5 years of related experience
  • Strong mechanical design experience with complex assemblies and hardware production
  • Proficient CAD modeling in Creo, NX, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings to ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
  • Experience in cross-discipline engineering teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, coordination and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Design structural and mechanical components and assemblies for spaceflight systems
  • Deliver high-quality models, documentation, and drawings meeting requirements and standards
  • Perform preliminary analysis (FEA and hand calculations) to verify compliance
  • Facilitate manufacturing, assembly, and delivery of hardware
  • Lead relationships with customer counterparts and project teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned
