Job summary

Bastion is seeking a Spaceflight Hardware Project Manager for our Houston-based program. You will lead cross-functional teams through development, certification and on-orbit support of flight hardware, coordinating with NASA and customers to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires space industry experience, a engineering degree, and at least five years in related roles. Onsite work with a 9/80 schedule and potential travel is expected.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to sensitivity of information.
• Experience in space industry or DoD/DoW required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating.
• Experience with NASA/JSC flight hardware processing and certification.
• Familiarity with NASA/JSC life cycle processes.
• Ability to review Work Authorization Documents for Class I hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, manufacturing, testing, certification and sustaining engineering of flight hardware items.
• Own bases of estimate process for flight hardware.
• Develop and maintain financial reports to monitor cost performance.
• Establish and improve procedures, work instructions and process flow.
• Review financial data to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Interface with NASA managers and customers to deliver project performance.
• Plan hardware troubleshooting for mechanical/electrical failures in flight/test support hardware.
• Provide strategic plans for new development, sustaining, resupply and anomalies.
• Represent the project at flight hardware development lifecycle meetings.
• Coordinate and support hardware development phases from design to flight delivery.
• Present project status at TCSR reviews.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
