Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks an Electrical Harness Design Engineer to join the Lunar Transportation Program. You will design, integrate, and test electrical harnesses for the Lunar Lander test bed and related hardware, focusing on power distribution, RF, and high-speed data systems.

Candidates should have a BS in a technical field and 4+ years designing wire harnesses, plus experience with 3D CAD (CREO), SID/BID/WID diagrams, and IPC/WHMA-A-620A.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical subject area.
  • 4+ years’ experience designing Wire Harnesses.
  • 4+ years’ experience in creating schematics, SID, BID, WID diagrams.
  • Experience in configuration management cycle of harness drawings.
  • Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
  • Familiar with IPC/WHMA-A-620A.
  • Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software, preferred CREO, Zuken.
  • Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.
  • Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft is desired.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering, SID, BID, and WID diagrams.
  • Integrate and install electrical harnesses.
  • Design harnesses for power distribution, RF, and high-speed data; select components and connectors.
  • Apply EMI/RFI considerations and harness shielding.
  • Create 3D routed harness data files using 3D CAD software.
  • Design harness support brackets and integration plans; guide hardware installation.
  • Support harness assemblies across the product life cycle from concept to production.
  • Support the design and build of HIL test beds focusing on lab infrastructure (Racks, Harnesses).
