Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Electrical Harness Design engineer to develop wiring interconnect diagrams, harness assemblies, and installation drawings for the Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design team on the Lunar Permanence program. You will influence safety, reliability, and performance of space hardware from concept through integration.

The role requires 7+ years of aerospace harness design experience, strong 3-D CAD skills, and familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD-8739.4, with

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical subject area.
• 7+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.
• Familiarity with Creo, Zuken or Windchill or experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical or Catia.
• Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
• Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4.
• Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal.
• Selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire.
• Create Wiring diagrams utilizing Zuken E3.
• Create 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling.
• Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets.
• Design and integration of harness support brackets.
• Support design configuration development and trade studies.
• Provide technical guidance for hardware installation.
• Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses.
• Report on activity schedule and technical status.
• Identify opportunities for technical improvements.
