Job summary

EON is building a high-throughput, space-based data transport system and is hiring electrical engineers across board-level design, high-speed mixed-signal, and spaceflight payload hardware. You will work with the terminal and payload, defining interfaces and bringing hardware from schematic to flight-ready.

This is a hands-on role for engineers who want to ship hardware that operates in extreme environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Board-level design from schematic capture to PCB layout.
• Hands-on bring-up and debugging with oscilloscope, logic analyzers.
• Analog and mixed-signal circuit fundamentals.
• Proficiency with EDA tools (Altium, KiCad, Cadence).
• Ability to move fast and make sound calls without complete data.

Responsibilities

• Design, lay out, and bring up electronics across the terminal and payload, owning boards from schematic through validated hardware
• Define electrical interfaces with optical seats, translating power, drive, and readout needs into schematics and boards
• Select, evaluate, and qualify components, balancing performance, availability, and lead time at seed-stage speed
• Characterize and debug at the bench, chasing issues across electrical, optical, and software boundaries
• Support integration and test as the optical chain and payload come together
• Document designs, test results, and bring-up procedures for rebuilds and debugging by others
