Job summary

Ephemeris Net seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design and develop electronics enabling space networking. You will work on high-speed digital systems, optical transceivers, and precision terminal electronics for space environments.

You will contribute to space hardware development, system integration, and hardware qualification, reporting to the CTO. This role is based in CA with a hybrid work model to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of electronics design experience with mixed focus on high-speed digital or analog circuits.
• Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, or similar).
• Track record delivering hardware.
• Understanding of signal integrity principles for high-speed digital design.
• Experience with laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• High-Speed Digital Design: design interfaces up to 9.6 Tbps for space-based routing and attenuating EMI/EMC.
• Optical Transceivers: develop semi-custom transceiver modules for space networking.
• Optical Terminal Electronics: design motor control, transimpedance amplifiers, and laser driver circuits for space terminals.
• Space Hardware Development: select COTS components and collaborate on thermal management for space electronics.
• System Integration: define electrical interfaces and ensure hardware-software integration.
• Hardware validation and debugging during build, integration, and test phases.
