Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking engineers to develop and verify inner-loop flight control applications for the New Glenn launch vehicle. You will contribute to simulations, control algorithms, and software verification across systems engineering, fluids, avionics, and vehicle operation teams.

Ideal candidates have strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and controls, plus extensive experience with Simulink, MATLAB, and embedded C/C++ development.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering with 5+ years of real project experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and modeling/validation.
  • Deep understanding of controls engineering including frequency response and stability margins.
  • Proficiency in Simulink and MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and automatic code generation.
  • Experience in embedded C/C++ programming.

Responsibilities

  • Model-based design and control software development for multiple New Glenn configurations.
  • Collaborate across New Glenn Autonomy with fluids, systems engineering, software integration, and avionics teams.
  • Conduct Monte Carlo simulations and covariance analysis for system performance characterization.
  • Support Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing.
  • Deliver software for vehicle testing and flight.
  • Support bench tests, integrated vehicle tests and flight operations including basic operator training.
