Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced aerospace engineer to support aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics design for space launch systems. You will develop models, run CFD workflows, and contribute across the product lifecycle from concept to flight operations.

Responsibilities include building analytical models, advancing data tools, and collaborating with a team to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight systems. Strong scripting in Python/C++ is a plus; U.S.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience with space vehicle aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, or flight mechanics.
  • Strong aerodynamic fundamentals and intuition through multiple flight regimes (subsonic, transonic, supersonic, hypersonic, free molecular flow).
  • Strong technical solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with aerodynamic model development.
  • Demonstrated experience with automation and data manipulation using scripting and programming languages.
  • Proven experience with CFD workflow from CAD through pre-processing, running and post processing.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Develop aerodynamic and aerothermodynamic models and databases for space launch and reentry vehicles.
  • Model flight mechanics and dynamics to support design and operations.
  • Construct analytical models of internal flow phenomena in tanks, diffusers, and fluids networks.
  • Apply technical leadership to ensure safe human spaceflight and high quality deliverables.
