Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Tooling/Ground Support Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to assist with the design, development, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment for high-performance spacecraft.

The 12-week internship runs May/June to August/September 2027 and involves hands-on assembly, metrology, and collaboration with a fast-paced agile team on flight hardware and test systems.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or completed engineering or science degree.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and work well in a small team.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanics, materials, and manufacturing basics.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment for spacecraft.
• Assist in test equipment and fixtures development used to validate flight hardware.
• Create and update CAD models, drawings, and assemblies for tooling and support equipment.
