Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in Palo Alto, CA, is seeking a Thermal Hardware Engineer to design and integrate thermal control and protection hardware for satellites and spacecraft components. You will lead design reviews, produce 3D models and drawings, and collaborate across engineering, analysis, and manufacturing teams to ensure complete thermal solutions.

The role emphasizes translating requirements into hardware designs, supporting fabrication and integration, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Must have a US citizenship or permanent resident status.
• BS in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related discipline; four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• 2 years of relevant experience; a master’s degree may account for two years of experience.
• Understanding of and proficiency in CAD software (Creo Parametric, AutoCAD).
• Ability to accommodate occasional non-standard shifts during peak milestone delivery time frames.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement thermal hardware requirements from thermal subsystem leads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop thermal hardware designs meeting requirements.
• Complete engineering design of thermal control and thermal protection hardware.
• Use Creo Parametric to develop models and drawings.
• Initiate engineering change requests and notices.
• Support prototyping, manufacturing, and fit checking of thermal hardware.
• Prepare detailed technical reports on work performed.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
